It’s been a while since we’ve had a moment to sit down and just share what is going on in the Show Me Yarn world. We just got back from our 3rd event as a vendor and it was a great weekend retreat with a bunch of awesome knitters!
We just past our 1 year anniversary for our etsy shop being open last month as well its just hard to believe how time flies!
So we got to spend the weekend (for some of us just the daytime parts) with a great group of ladies at the Proverbial Knitter Retreat at the Blackberry Creek Retreat Bed and Breakfast. It was an awesome weekend! The owners of this B&B really know how to spoil their guests! The meals were amazing and they really made you feel at home.
We also got to take a tour of Morning Moon Alpaca farm. Diane and her husband Michael really know about everything you could hope to know about Alpacas! They were so generous with their time and after the tour we got to do a little shopping in their studio. Here are just a few of the adorable critters! Also none of us realized how incomplete our lives had been until we saw a giraffe spotted alpaca!
Saturday night Tammy held a yarn and fiber “auction” a long standing tradition if you are a member of Springfield’s local knitting Group Knit Together Springfield. Most, if not all of the retreat goers donated auction items and everyone is given a set amount of “money” and then the bidding begins. There were definitely some bidding wars, but it was all fun. This way everyone goes home with something and we all went home with lots of new yarn and fiber. We were laughing so hard and having so much fun no one was ready for when Tammy let us know that the auction was over.
Sunday afternoon was the small market featuring Fishknits yarns, Three Strands Fibrewrk and Show Me Yarn. Lots and lots of shopping occurred! Thanks to everyone that purchased something from us! Sunday night ended with an extra special dinner, and we celebrated 3 November birthdays for Amber, Ester, and Jamee.
Everyone took home a goodie bag full of yarnie goodies, here are a few shots of just some of it! Not only did we get awesome yarn a Chick-fil-A bag, and a cute coze, we got, patterns, note pads, and pens and all kinds of knitting goodies. There was also chocolate! Thanks to everyone who donated something!
And here is everyone all together(photo courtesy of the awesome Amber!)
We can’t wait for the next opportunity to spend time with our our Fiber friends!
